Our Mission

“Our vision is to live in a world without child abuse where every child can feel safe and loved just as they are.”

Everyone’s a child at some point and no child should ever have to live in fear. I have a mission to bring awareness to this issue and help children and young adult survivors of child abuse find their voice and their confidence. Everyone deserves to feel loved and that should first be learned from childhood.

Hands on Ways to End Child Abuse

Through our Volunteer page, you can find opportunities to make a difference in the CARE community by joining one of our CARE committees. Our committees consist of:

  • Finance
  • Nominating
  • Marketing
  • Education
  • Programming (General)
  • Programming (Specialized – Psychology or Social Work background required)

Our committees have no set limit of volunteers unless capped by the director overseeing the board.

Are There Other Ways to Volunteer?

Yes! Through our Volunteer page, we will continue to provide links and resources to other non-profits that share our goals of ending child abuse.

Considering Joining CARE’s Board of Directors?

Thank you for your interest in joining Children’s Advocacy, Resources, and Education’s Board of Directors. Please visit our Apply to CARE page for the most updated information regarding available roles. The CARE Board of Directors may consist of up to twelve (12) members, including roles such as:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Marketing Director
  • Program Director
  • Education Director
  • Member at Large (may have up to five)

Note that all Board of Directors positions are volunteer/unpaid positions as CARE is a new organization. Eventually, CARE may expand to a paid structure for its Board of Directors. CARE is working on establishing its Pen Pal Program! This program will serve survivors of child abuse and neglect to connect with other survivors close to their age to feel a greater sense of community. The program is meant to provide survivors with a friend who shares similar experiences. The penpals are then able to lift each other up with every message sent.

CARE is working on establishing its Mentor Program! This program will serve survivors of child abuse and neglect to heal reconnect with their inner selves. The Mentor Program will place a heavy emphasis on building the confidence of every mentee and providing the necessary tools for each mentee to thrive. All CARE mentors will be trauma-informed professionals consisting of vetted licensed social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists. CARE follows HIPAA guidelines to ensure all conversations with a mentor are 100% confidential.

Know Where Your Donations Go

When you donate to CARE, we don’t want you to wonder how your donations will be used. This is why CARE pledges to have complete Financial Transparency. To ensure you that your funds aren’t wasted, we will provide annual comprehensive financial reports of how much CARE has received in donations and what those donations have gone to. We believe you should have every right to know where your hard earned money is going.
